MedExpress Urgent Care at 1953 East 3rd Street, Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Been here twice in the past year. Very good experience both times and I recommend giving them a try.

I’ve never experience customer service as appalling as I did from 2 MedExpress employees.

Rather than wasting hospital resources, after receiving burns from a motor vehicle accident, I decided the injuries could be more efficiently treated at an Urgent Care facility. My intentions were to pay for the services myself, and submit my expenses as an insurance claim later.

The clueless receptionist stated that since I was involved in an accident, and did not have the other driver’s insurance information with me, I was out of luck and they could not help me. A camouflaged-dressed cashier at the Checkout window backed her up, repeating it was “state law” and “policy”, and some extra attitude for good measure.
Here I was, a customer, in a medical office, asking to be treated with credit card in hand. It seemed absolutely inconceivable that “you’re SOL” was a valid response from these 2 individuals.

I asked to speak to a manager, and sure enough, it’s not AGAINST THE LAW for patients to pay for their own medical treatment. Gee… who woulda thunk??? Anyone with common sense and good customer service skills, that’s who.

After getting that little payment issue taken care of, I was again discouraged from seeking treatment by being told that I would have to wait a long time and by attempting to scare me with the potential bill amount. I went from confused to incensed by the poor treatment by these 2 MedExpress employees, so I left to seek treatment elsewhere.

As an employee of a medical office, you are supposed to be friendly, companionate, and courteous. Instead I experienced incompetence, indifference, and hostility. As a front-end employee, you are the face of the organization and it is your responsibility to make a good first impression with the customer.

Also, camouflage is not a good look for a medical office. It makes me think “outdoors”, “dirty” and “lazy”. The way you dress at work should communicate “sterile”, “neat”, and “efficient”.
